Headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, nFrames develops software technology for the reconstruction of 3D surfaces from images. The core software product SURE is particularly designed for large datasets such as countrywide aerial images in the terrabyte domain for the production of 3D point clouds, surface models, true orthophotos or textured meshes. nFrames was founded in 2014 as a spin-off from the University of Stuttgart’s Institute for Photogrammetry by PhD researchers Konrad Wenzel and Mathias Rothermel. Meanwhile, the company with its 14 team members (Nov. 17) serves private and public mapping institutions worldwide in more than 20 countries. In Germany eleven of the 16 German states are using the products for countrywide 3D data production. Furthermore, the technology is sublicensed to multiple software companies in the drone domain - reaching additional channels, verticals and markets.
