Start-up BW Pre-Seed: Successful start of the pilot phase, new partners on board

More than one third of the state funds provided for the start-up BW Pre-Seed financing offer have already been invested. Two new accelerators complement the existing Pre-Seed portfolio as partners.

Start-ups developing innovative products and applications in the areas of AI Applications, Platform Technologies, E-commerce, Smart Green Technologies, Industry 4.0 or Life Sciences have had the opportunity since December 2018 to receive the Start-up BW Pre-Seed funding instrument.

20 start-up projects have so far gone through the selection process and received financing commitments totalling around 6.3 million Euros. The fact that interest and demand are increasing is also shown by the fact that two additional accelerators have now been added to the Pre-Seed portfolio as partners.

The Start-up Hubs Pioniergeist in Stuttgart and Grünhof in Freiburg are official partners and regional contacts for interested start-ups. As accelerators, the partners supervise and support start-up projects in the practical implementation of business ideas and in networking with corporate and financing partners.

Further regional partners of the Pre-Seed offer are bwcon in Stuttgart, the Start-up and Innovation Centre of the Ulm Region (TFU), the Cyberforum in Karlsruhe, Startup Mannheim, the Heidelberg Technology Park and innoWerft in Walldorf.
