"Start-up support is now more important than ever. Fresh ideas and new concepts can help to gear our economy towards the future. Our goal of making Baden-Württemberg more visible as an attractive location for start-ups has come a significant step closer to our goal by reaching the finals of the European Enterprise Promotion Award (EEPA)," explained Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut. Having reached the European finals as national winner, it now counts as "Best Practice". The winners of the final round will be announced on November 16 in Berlin. "Start-up-friendly municipalities help founders to overcome bureaucratic obstacles and support them with offers that they really need. In the first round of the competition in 2018/2019, we have already been able to award 75 municipalities the title 'Excellent place for founders and start-ups'."
"At the moment, many municipalities and business development agencies are fully occupied with dealing with the local effects of the Corona crisis. But we must not lose sight of the founders and start-ups now", the Minister of Economic Affairs warned. "We would like to give even more municipalities and districts the opportunity to obtain the necessary tools for sopporting start-ups and will therefore extend the deadline for applications of the current competition round until 31 July."
